THINK

Teachers are supposed to decorate their classrooms in a way that encourages learning. Upon entering the room, one should easily determine the grade level and subjects that are usually taught in that room.

This year, I ran across a bulletin board idea that I needed to have in my room. It really doesn’t have much to do with the subjects I teach. There is a truth in it that is so important for life today.

The focus of the board is when students interact with social media that they take time to consider if what they are about to view, post, or share is following the biblical model set out in Philippians 4:8.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Someone came up with a great acrostic that helps the students remember that command. They can use the word THINK to evaluate if it is True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, and Kind. Kids are berated by everything contrary to those words. They need all the help they can get to keep their lives on track with God’s Word.

We would all do well to follow that same simple principle. Take time to THINK as you…

Walk in Him.
